Accessibility Statement
The Municipality of Salerno is committed to ensuring a fully accessible web experience for all people, regardless of their abilities, including those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnification software and alternative input devices to navigate online.
Our ongoing commitment to accessibility
We adopt the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 as the main reference for designing, developing and updating the cultura.comune.salerno.it website. These international standards define recommendations and best practices for making content perceivable, operable, understandable and robust for as many users as possible. Every new page, feature or content item is checked against these criteria, so as to maintain an adequate level of accessibility over time.
Website accessibility is an ongoing process, not a static result. We periodically carry out checks and tests on pages and features to verify their compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA and, where necessary, take corrective and improvement actions. The checks are performed by our team using recognised tools and methodologies, including the WordPress Accessibility Checker plugin, colour contrast analysers, keyboard-only navigation tests and readability tests based on the Flesch-Kincaid index.

Areas where we are improving
With a view to constant improvement, we are working in particular on:
- Reviewing and optimising the accessibility of multimedia content (video, audio, any downloadable documents), including transcripts and subtitles where possible.
- Gradually revising older pages to bring them into line with current accessibility standards.
- Monitoring issues reported by automated tools and user feedback, with the systematic resolution of any problems.
These activities are part of a broader commitment by the Municipality of Salerno to make the experience on cultura.comune.salerno.it welcoming, inclusive and usable by everyone.
Please note that, although we make every effort to ensure the accessibility of the content published on our site, we cannot guarantee the same level of compliance for third-party websites that may be linked via external links.
