FITWALKING FOR NATIONAL AIL

Together with new goals! X edition – 04.10.2026

THEAIL(Italian Association against Leucemies, Lymphomas, Mieloma) Salerno ODV – “Marco Tulimieri” was formed on 28 may 1998 and is one of 83 provincial sections autonomous National AIL. Thanks to the work of about 600 volunteers and 90 committees operating throughout the province of Salerno, AIL Salerno collects and manages funds for strengthen the centers of hematology of the A.O.U. “San Giovanni di Dio e Ruggi D’Aragona” di Salerno e dell’U.O.C. Ethology of the “Andrea Tortora” hospital in Pagani, in order to ensure the patient’s physical proximity to a Specialised Hematological Pole. The National AIL organizes various activities that can contribute to a psychosocial recovery of patients, promoting outdoor activities such as the “Fitwalking for AIL”.

The “Fitwalking for AIL” is a solidarity walk born to celebrate World Day of Chronic Mieloid Leukemia and that, at its tenth edition, continues to represent a moment of solidarity and awareness on issues related to hematological pathologies. An event to walk together towards new goals and support research and assistance projects for hematologic patients. On the occasion of the tenth edition, the section AIL Salerno will participate in the “Fitwalking for AIL” that will be held on Sunday 04 October 2026, at the same time in several Italian cities, which will involve families, volunteers, patients and caregiver.

The route is about 4 km and previews the following stages: departure from Piazza della Libertà, continuation towards Maritime Station, direction Villa Comunale – Centro Storico passing through the Church of the Annunciata, proceeding via Mercanti until Piazza Portanova, along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, then descent on Via Dei Principati, Lungomare and you return to Piazza della Libertà.

During the course, the instructors of A.S.D. Fitwalking Salerno will give directions to participants about the techniques of walking.
