As part of the festivities for San Matteo, appointment in the Cathedral Friday 18 September for the “Concerto d’Organo” of Gabriele Agrimonti, famous organist and, from 2022, organist and artistic director of the historical organ J. Merklin of the National Church of San Luigi dei Francesi in Rome.
Gabriele Agrimonti has been considered one of the main organists of his generation for years: he obtained awards in the international competitions of improvisation of Haarlem — unanimously of the jury — St Albans, Strasbourg and Paris. He’s the first Italian improviser to have conquered them.
After playing in the cathedrals, churches and concert halls of Europe, Friday evening will bring his mastery to Salerno in honor of San Matteo.
