As every year, the preparations for the Feast of St. Matthew, Patron Saint of the city of Salerno.

That between Salerno and San Matteo is a visceral bond, which has its roots in a millenary history, and which sees the whole city waiting impatient every year on the day of the procession, on September 21.

Rise of the San Matteo Cloth, 21 August
A month after the feast of the Patron Saint, the city of Salerno renews one of its most felt and identity rituals, officially starting the celebrations for St. Matthew: the culminating moment of the ceremony sees the exhibition of the famous drappo at the atrium of the Cathedral.
