Arena Arbostella, from 28 August to 3 September the great summer festival of theatre and show.
Seven nights free admission between cabaret, comedies, music and great classics of the Neapolitan theatre. In program also the delivery of the traditional Gino Esposito Award.
One of the most anticipated events of the Salento summer returns with its 15th edition. From Friday 28 August to Thursday 3 September 2026, the square in front of the Arbostella Theatre “Gino Esposito”, in viale Verdi in Salerno, will host the Arena Arbostella – Gino Esposito Award, summer festival dedicated to theatre, cabaret and music.
A week of outdoor performances, all with free entry to exhaustion places, born from an idea of the late artistic director Gino Esposito, a reference figure of the theatre of Salento, and today carried out by the artistic director Arturo Esposito and the president of the Teatro Arbostella Immacolata Caracciuolo.
THE PROGRAMME
To inaugurate the 15th edition, friday 28 august, will be the trio salrnitano of Villa PerBene, composed by Chicco Paglionico, Andrea Monetti and Francesco D’Antonio, protagonists of the cabaret show “Title and subtitle”, a concentrate of comedy, surreal situations, surprises and new sketches.
Saturday 29 August space at the theatre with the neapolitan company Zerottantuno Art and Culture, led by Felice Pace, which will lead on stage “La fortuna con la F maiuscola”, comedy signed by Eduardo De Filippo and Armando Curcio.
Sunday 30 August will be the turn of the company, the Comic Gino Esposito, engaged in the masterpiece of Raffaele Viviani “A morte ‘e Carnevale”, directed by Francesco Delli Priscoli. An evening full of fun, without sacrificing the ideas of reflection typical of the great Neapolitan theatre tradition.
Monday 31 August back to the Arena the company nolana The ones that… the Theatre, already protagonist of the previous edition, with the comedy “Cornuti e felicii”, interpreted, among others, by Marco Lanzuise and Luciano Salvetti, flanked by a nourished and tried cast.
Tuesday 1 September space for music with Vanessa Caputo, protagonist of the live show “Summer is ending”, a journey through the most beautiful pages of Italian music. On stage also the choreography of A.S.D. Salerno Danza.
Wednesday 2 September will be the protagonist Teatro Popolare Salernitano, stable company of the Teatro Il Sipario di Sandro e Regina, with a great classic by Eduardo De Filippo: “I don’t pay you”, played by Roberto and Anna Nisivoccia.
To close the review, thursday 3 september, will be the company All’Antica Italiana by Gaetano Troiano, with one of the battle horses of Peppino De Filippo, “It is not true but I believe it”.
During the seven evenings the traditional Gino Esposito Award, recognition dedicated to artists and professionals who, during their career, have been able to cross their artistic path with that of the late director and director of salerno.
The Arena Arbostella is thus confirmed not only a review of shows, but also a moment of meeting and aggregation for the public not only of the eastern area but for the entire city of Salerno, in the sign of the theatrical tradition and memory of Gino Esposito.
