Words and Music – Where Francis Walked

Patti Smith, the “sacerdotessa del rock” returns with the project Words and Music, acoustic performance that includes a testimony of the deep bond that unites it to the figure of St. Francis, since his visit to Assisi in 2012.

In 2026, on the occasion of the eighth centenary of the death of the Saint, Patti Smith welcomed the invitation of the Franciscan community of Assisi by composing the poem “Where Francis Walked”.

The concert will be dedicated to the songs, poems, texts and experiences that characterized the personal and spiritual life of the American artist.
