During the summer, Salerno celebrates its marine protector: the Madonna from the Sea. A miraculous picture is placed on a boat and escorted by an authentic fleet of fishing boats, ships and boats in a water procession that touches the heart of the Salento.
Between the straw of fireworks and the reflection of the lights on the water, the effigy is transported to the Church of St. Augustine, in a rite that merges the beauty of the coast with the deep spirituality of a people of navigators.
