Day of the peoples 2026

In Salerno the Festival of Peoples, in field 21 migrant communities

Music, dances, traditions, spirituality and moments of confrontation to tell an increasingly plural city. This is the main theme of the Festival of People 2026, scheduled on Sunday, September 27, from 16, to the Urban Park of the Irno of Salerno.

21 communities will be involved, from sub-Saharan Africa to Algeria, from China to Colombia, from Philippines, Georgia and Honduras to Morocco, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Peru, Poland, Romania, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Ukraine and Venezuela, along with the Italian community.

This year’s edition is dedicated to the theme “Generations – Vision is moving”, with the aim of focusing the encounter between generations and cultures and transforming dialogue into shared participation and action.

The program will open at 4 pm with the entrance of the flags, guided by the Flag of Peace.

At 16.15 the representatives of the different faiths will be on stage for a moment of reflection on the values of peace, harmony and brotherhood.

From 16.30 space to music and dances of the five continents, cultural stands, workshops for children dedicated to peace and a treasure hunt.

At 20.30 the spectacular moment with “Generations in movement”, a choreography created by a dance body composed by representatives of the communities present on the notes of the official anthem of the event.

The Festival was presented at Palazzo di Città in the presence of the Councillor for Social Policies Paola de Roberto. The initiative is promoted by the Archdiocese of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno and its Offices, with Caritas Salerno Foundation and Salernitana Ets Community Foundation.

The appointment concludes a journey started in September with a meeting in Naples and the talk “Concrete Generations” in Salerno, dedicated to comparing the migration phenomenon and the participation of the new generations in the life of the community.
