Extended description

The Church of St. Lucia, placed today in a beautiful square that opens on Via Roma, was erected in 1400 near what was the Jewish quarter of the city, the Judaic. Close to the walls, this neighborhood had been inhabited by a large community of Jews until the 13th century, a community dedicated to crafts and that did not leave traces except in the names.

The church, richly decorated with the foundation, has had a series of remakes that radically changed its structure and also the lost decoration. What we see today is the version of the second half of the nineteenth century, after Unity, and

the frescoes adorning the walls are attributable to that period.

The wooden statues of Saint Lucia and the Immaculate (particularly beautiful) are instead of the eighteenth century.
