Fire, meat and street culture: in Salerno comes the festival of the smash burger

From Thursday 15th to Sunday 18th October 2026 the Parco dell’Irno (ex Salid) in Salerno hosts Smash Fest, the festival entirely dedicated to smash burger, quality barbecue and street food author.

It is not a trade fair or a festival. Smash Fest is a collective experience that focuses on meat, fire and gastronomic craftsmanship. It is built as a village spread over several thematic areas, designed for families, enthusiasts and professionals. The wait is already high.

More than 15 realities between smash burger, braceria and street food, from Salerno to Naples.

Initially scheduled from 8 to 11 October, the festival was moved a week due to weather forecasts, to offer the best conditions to the public and exhibitors.

The gastronomic program

The smash burger are the absolute protagonists: crushed meat on the rolling plate, crisp crust and juicy heart, in the versions of the best interpreters of the genre. Next to them there will be gourmet sandwiches and a selection of street specialties.

An entire grill area will be curated by Roy Pagano, with the extraordinary participation of Macelleria Accurso and Marco Sangiovanni – The Art of the Barbecue of Rome, among the names of reference in Italy for the culture of slow cooking. Here the public can discover techniques, times and secrets of the authentic barbecue.

Music: four nights, four atmospheres

At Smash Fest every evening the stage of the Irno Park lights up with live shows and DJ sets designed to make the audience sing and dance:

– Sunday 18 October: Sean Gray DJ

Animation and training

During the days the program also includes animation for families and children. There is also a schedule of meetings and demonstrations on the techniques and culture of barbecue and street food, open to fans and professionals.

Who organizes it

The festival is promoted and organized by Erre Erre Eventi ETS, an association of the third sector of Salento active in cultural, food and wine events and territorial promotion. Among its formats are Pizza Fest, Divina Erre Events ETS – Smash Fest 2026 · 2 Experience and Panettone d’Artista. Smash Fest is created in collaboration with Amalfi Coast Events, Accurso Eventi and La Fonte Distribuzione.

Smash Fest takes place with the patronage of the Municipality of Salerno and the ASI Consortium of Salerno.
