12 SEPTEMBER At 19.00 at the Primary Cathedral, Archbishop Andrea Bellandi will celebrate the Holy Mass of Sports.
Sunday 17 SEPTEMBER At 6.30 p.m. at the Primary Cathedral the Holy Mass will be celebrated with the canonical admission of the new parish priest, Fr Felice Moliterno, in the Metropolitan Chapter of the Cathedral of Salerno.

UNDER 18 SEPTEMBER At 19.00 at the Primary Cathedral, H.E. Mons. Giuseppe Giudice, Bishop of Nocera Inferiore-Sarno, will celebrate the Holy Mass with the participation of the parish communities of Forania Salerno Est, animated by the Corale “Cantate Domino – Aloysiana” of the Cathedral of Amalfi.
TUESDAY, 19 SEPTEMBER At 19.00 at the Primary Cathedral, H.E. Msgr. Vincenzo Calvosa, Bishop of Vallo della Lucania, will celebrate the Holy Mass with the participation of the parish communities of the Forania Salerno Ovest-Ogliara, animated by the Corale Sacro Cuore of Jesus of Bellizzi directed by Giovanni Moscariello.
WEDNESDAY 20 SEPTEMBER At 18.00 at the Primary Cathedral, H.E. Msgr. Andrea Bellandi, Archbishop of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno, will preside over the First Chapter Vespers of the Solemnity of St. Matthew the Apostle and Evangelist in the presence of the Superiors and students of the Metropolitan Seminary “John Paul II”. The Rite of the collection of manna will follow the tomb of the Apostle.

At 10.30 at the Primary Cathedral, S.Em. Rev.ma Card. Matteo Zuppi, Archbishop of Bologna and President of the Italian Episcopal Conference, will preside over the Solemn Pontificale on the occasion of the Solemnity of St Matthew the Apostle and Evangelist animated by the Choir of the Diocese of Salerno.
At 18.00 will take place the traditional Procession in the streets of the center of San Matteo, San Giuseppe, San Gregorio VII, San Gaio, Sant’Ante and San Fortunato. In particular, the Procession will travel via Duomo, via Mercanti, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, via Adolfo Cilento, Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi, via Roma, reaching the Teatro Verdi, passing via Portacatena, Largo Campo, via Da Procida and then via Mercanti, arriving at the intersection with Via Duomo to go back to the Cathedral. Expected stops at the Guardia Finanza barracks, in Piazza Dante for the Blessing on the sea and at Palazzo di Città.
At 22.00, at the end of the procession, the Holy Mass will be celebrated at the Crypt of San Matteo.

16 SEPTEMBER At 11.00 a.m. visit of the relic of the Saint at the Campolongo Hospital in Eboli (SA).
UNDER 18 SEPTEMBER At 11.00 a visit to the reliquia del Santo at the Casa Circondariale “Antonio Caputo” in Salerno, Fuorni.
TUESDAY, 19 SEPTEMBER At 11.00 a.m. visit of the relic of the Holy to the Guardia di Finanza at the church of San Giorgio, Salerno.
City Floral Homage
At 20.00 at Piazza Flavio Gioia there will be the traditional floral homage of the City of Salerno to its Patron Saint, officially opening the festivities in honor of St. Matthew Apostle and Evangelist, in the presence of Archbishop Andrea Bellandi and the civil and military authorities.
Matteane Days
Among the most famous cultural events of the Archdiocese of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno are Matteane Days: two events taking place within the cycle of solemn patronal celebrations. The event organized by the Diocesan Office for Culture and Art will take place at the Atrium of the Cathedral with the title “She spoke to them in parables” (Mt 13,3) – Say God today. The meetings will be presided over by H.E. Mons. Andrea Bellandi; the professor Lorella Parente, director of the Office for Culture and Art, and Fr Felice Moliterno, pastor of the Pastoral Unit of the Centro Storico Salerno.
UNDER 18 SEPTEMBER At 20.15 the first meeting of Matteane Days will be held. Interventions: “Jesus tells the kingdom in parables. Introduction to the parabolic speech of Jesus” by Antonio Landi, professor at the Pontifical Urbaniana University of Rome; “Reinnovate the language of faith in change of epoch” by Armando Matteo, professor at the Pontifical Urbaniana University of Rome and Secretary for the doctrinal section of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith.
TUESDAY, 19 SEPTEMBER At 20.15 will be held the second meeting of the Matteane Days. Interventions: “There is no faith without understanding. The parable of the sower (Mt 13,3-23)” by Vincenzo Appella, professor at the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Southern Italy, section San Luigi di Napoli; “To tell the Gospel today: to communicate with the young generations” curated by Sr. Mariangela Tassielli, editorial and multimedia director of Edizioni Paoline.
Palio Remiero San Matteo
From 10.00 to 17.00 at the Arena di Santa Teresa il CONI – Regional Committee Campania and the Circolo Canottieri Irno organize the Palio Remiero San Matteo.
The event will start in the morning with an open day for the children of schools and parishes, who will be able to participate in exciting activities of rowing, canoeing and sailing. To follow, along an exciting path in the mirror of water in front of the arenile of Santa Teresa, will take place the Palio Remiero of St. Matthew in the following categories: schools, parishes and bearers of the statues of St. Matthew, St. Joseph, St. Gregory and the Saint Martyrs Ante, Fortunato and Gaio, for the assignment of the prestigious trophy of the Harbour Authority.
Oratory “Matthew, Apostle of Christ”
WEDNESDAY 20 SEPTEMBER
At 21.00 at the Municipal Theatre Giuseppe Verdi in Salerno will hold the first representation of the Sacred Oratory “Matteo, Apostle of Christ” for solos, choir and orchestra, with texts by Don Emanuele Andaloro and music by Mons. Marco Frisina, together with the artistic direction of Remo Grimaldi. The Chorus of the Diocese of Salerno and the Campana Philharmonic Orchestra will take place.
