Between the course, the alleys and the opening towards the sea, the large tree of Piazza Portanova gives a center to the Christmas of the city. The coloured spheres dot the branches; white flowers and festoons accompany the ascent, between glows that draw the gaze to the top. At his feet you expect, you find yourself, you choose a place for a photo. The square collects these small rites and renews them every evening. In the tree everyone can recognize something of their own Christmas, brought outdoors and shared with those who cross Salerno.
Technical characteristics
The tree is 20.8 meters tall and has a base of about 7.5 meters in diameter. It is decorated with 1,500 blue, red, white and gold spheres, fabric flowers and white festoons arranged in spiral. Cold white LEDs with intermittent effect and strobe lights animate the structure. Floral decorations complete the base.
