“The Myth” is one of the City’s works created by Salerno artist and Maestro Nello Ferrigno for the 2011 edition of the Salerno Luci d’Artista event. “For the world itself can be called a myth, inasmuch as bodies and things appear in it, while souls and spirits hide in it.” Nello Ferrigno seems to fully espouse Saturnino Secondo Sallustio’s definition, because the goal of his work, capable of combining the viscerality of manipulation with the cultured idea behind the drawing, is precisely to reveal the protagonists who are part of a collective memory populated by sirens and minotaurs, gods and sacred animals.
